JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (April 14, 2016) - Fourth year head coach Brittney Ezell announced on Thursday the addition of junior college transfer Micah Norris from Chipola College as part of the 2016-17 recruiting class.

"We are very excited to add Micah Norris of Murfreesboro, Tenn. to our program," said Ezell. "Micah is a versatile wing player that gives us a different look from the perimeter. She poses a matchup problem with her size and is an incredibly gifted defensive player. Her athleticism will enable her to compete on the glass and get out quickly on the break."

Norris is a 5'11 guard who last season helped the Lady Indians to a 34-1 overall record and a NJCAA National Championship. Norris contributed on the offensive glass grabbing 28 offensive rebounds while defensively recording 36 steals. Norris played her freshman season at Southern Illinois University, playing in six games.

The Murfreesboro, Tenn., native had an exceptional high school career at Blackman High School, playing on Blackman's 2014 state championship team that was ranked No.1 in the nation by ESPN and No.1 in the state of Tennessee.
During her junior season Norris averaged eight points, three assists, five rebounds and three steals and played on the 2013 AAU national champion Tennessee Flight team.

"She has experienced a high level of success with every program for which she has played from high school state and national championship at Blackman High School, to an AAU circuit Nike National Championship with Tennessee Flight, to a championship level junior college program at Chipola College," said Ezell. "Micah knows what it takes to win and we expect that to continue here at ETSU."

In four years on varsity at Blackman, Norris compiled an overall record of 105-19 while averaging 7.7 points, 4.7 rebounds, 3.1 assists, 3.2 steals and 1.2 blocks per game.

Micah is the daughter of Terri and Michael Norris and plans to major in health sciences at ETSU.
