JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (November 25, 2016) – After falling in heartbreaking fashion on Wednesday the ETSU women’s basketball team looks to bounce back on Saturday as they travel to Highland Heights, Ky. to square off with Northern Kentucky at 1:00 p.m. inside BB&T Arena.

Scouting the Buccaneers
ETSU has alternated victories to begin the season en route to an overall record of 2-2. On Wednesday, Nov.23 the Bucs fell to Appalachian State at home, 71-68 on a game-winning three-pointer. Offensively, the Bucs are led by junior Tianna Tarter (Johnson City, Tenn.) who ranks third in the SoCon in points per game (17.3) and assists per game (5.3).
ETSU Stifling Defense from the Three-Point Line
The Bucs have played #ETSUTough defense at the three-point line this season limiting it’s opponents to just a .214 shooting percentage from beyond the three-point line. The .214 percentage ranks first in the SoCon and 16th in the NCAA.
75 is the Mark
Since the 2002-03 season, the Bucs are 124-21 when they hit the 75-point plateau. The winning percentage grows even higher since the 2006-07 season as ETSU has an overall record of 92-16 when scoring at least 75 points.
The Dynamic Duo
Tianna Tarter and senior Shamauria Bridges (Miramar, Fla.) have been the catalysts for the ETSU offense this season recording 121 of ETSU total 256 points. Both Bridges and Tarter rank in the top ten in the SoCon in points per game, making ETSU one of only two SoCon schools to have that honor.
A “Schurr” Thing
Junior Malloree Schurr (Mongtomery, Texas) has been a force on the glass this season leading the team with six rebounds per game. Schurr has also recorded 12 offensive rebounds and ranks fourth in the SoCon with 3.0 offensive rebounds per game.
Scouting Northern Kentucky
Northern Kentucky heads into Saturday’s contest with an overall record of 1-3 and is coming off a 58-41 defeat at the hands of the two-time defending Mid-American Conference Champions, Ohio on Monday. The Norse are balanced on the offensive end as NKU has six players averaging at least five points per game. Junior Kasey Uetrecht leads the way for the Norse averaging 8.3 points and 4.5 rebounds per game.
