Five of ETSU’s next seven games are in Brooks Gym  

JOHNSON CITY, Tenn.  (January 18, 2017) – After a three-week hiatus the ETSU Women’s Basketball team returns home for their Southern Conference home opener against UNCG on Thursday, Jan.19 at 7:00 p.m. inside Brooks Gym.

Scouting the Buccaneers
ETSU heads into their first home SoCon weekend with an overall record of 10-9 and 1-2 in conference play. The Bucs began SoCon play with three straight road games, dropping last weekend’s contest at Chattanooga, 60-45.

Dean of Basketball
Sophomore Raven Dean (Charlotte, N.C.) recorded her third double-double of the season at Chattanooga recording 10 points and 12 rebounds. Dean ranks third on the team with 7.9 points per game and ninth in the SoCon in defensive rebounds at 3.8.

Free For a Reason
The blue and gold have been making the most of the opportunity at the free-throw line the past two games going a staggering 29-of-33 from the free-throw line. Against Samford on Jan.7, the Bucs shot 91.4 percent from the free-throw line.

Terrific Tarter
Junior Tianna Tarter (Johnson City, Tenn.) recorded a game-high 19 points at Chattanooga including 12 points in the fourth quarter. Tarter this season leads the SoCon in scoring at 19.4 points per game and ranks 17th in the NCAA in total points with 350. Check out Tianna Tarter’s Bid for All-American recognition HERE.

Success Against the Competition
Against the next four opponents (UNCG, Western Carolina, Furman, Wofford), ETSU has an overall record of 101-71 all-time.

Home Sweet Home
After having a tough road schedule to begin the start of SoCon play, the Bucs enjoy five of their next seven games at home. This season, ETSU is 4-4 at home with key victories over Davidson and Old Dominion

Scouting UNCG Spartans
UNCG has lost three of its last four contests en route to an overall record of 10-9 and 1-3 in SoCon play. However, UNCG is coming off a 64-40 victory over Samford last Saturday. The Spartans have two players averaging in double figures with freshman Nadine Soliman leading the team with 17.7 points per game.
