Scouting the Buccaneers
ETSU has complied an overall record of 15-13 and 7-6 in Southern Conference play after falling on Thursday to Wofford, 54-52. Since the start of conference play, Shamauria Bridges (Miramar, Fla.) has led the offensive charge, averaging 17.3 points per game. As a team, ETSU ranks second in the SoCon at 64.7 points per game
Three-Point Record Set to Fall
Bridges needs just two three-pointers to break the ETSU single-season record set by Michele DeVault in 2007. The senior guard has 84 threes’ this season to lead the SoCon. Bridges holds three of the top five single-season three-point performances at ETSU.
Best in the State
Among the 11 Division I programs in the state of Tennessee, ETSU has two players ranking in the top ten in scoring with Bridges (427) and junior Tianna Tarter (Johnson City, Tenn.) (525).
The Big Three
Over the past seven games, the trio of Bridges, Tarter and sophomore Raven Dean (Charlotte, N.C.) have led the ETSU offensive charge totaling 329 of ETSU’s total 442 points.
Career Night For Tipps
Against Wofford, sophomore Sadasia Tipps (Hickory, N.C.) corralled a career-high 17 rebounds (9 offensive, 8 defensive). It’s the second straight year ETSU Women’s Basketball has had a player register at least 15 rebounds.
Scouting the Furman Paladins
Furman heads into the final regular season with a record of 14-15 and 7-6 in SoCon play. The Paladins have lost back-to-back games, most recently falling to Chattanooga, 66-43 on Thursday. Leading the Paladin offense is Cierra Carter who is averaging 12.3 points and 8.0 rebounds.
