ESTERO, Fla. (Nov. 23, 2017) – For the next five days, the Bucs will enjoy time in the Sunshine State, as they will compete in the 2017 Gulf Coast Showcase in Estero, Fla. ETSU opens up with No. 6/5 ranked Notre Dame on Friday night at 7:30 p.m. inside Germain Arena.

Who’s in the Showcase?
St. John’s, Western Michigan, No. 3/2 South Carolina, Rutgers, No. 17/16 South Florida, Washington State, and No. 6 Notre Dame.
Scouting the Buccaneers
The Bucs are currently 4-1 and are coming off three straight victories. They beat Appalachian State on the road and then defeated Tennessee Tech and Duquesne inside their home court of Brooks Gym. Britney Snowden (Pensacola, Fla.) leads the Bucs in rebounds per game. Sadasia Tipps (Hickory, N.C.) and Raven Dean (Charlotte, N.C.) are also power rebounders. Tianna Tarter (Johnson City, Tenn.) and Erica Haynes-Overton (Nashville, Tenn.) lead the Bucs in scoring and assists.
First Time for Everything
This is the first time the Bucs and the Fighting Irish will play each other in program history.
Tarter Wins Back-To-Back Awards
Tianna Tarter won back-to-back awards. First she was named the College Sports Madness Player of the Week and then she was named the SoCon Women’s Basketball Player of the Week.
Tianna Tarter and Erica Haynes-Overton combined for 54 points in the win over Duquesne. The two guards lead the Bucs in scoring and are unstoppable when working together.
Distributing the Wealth
All ten players for the 2017-18 season have scored so far this season.
Scouting Notre Dame
In both the AP Top 2 Poll and the USA Today Coaches Poll, Notre Dame is ranked sixth with wins over Kentucky and Oregon State. The Fighting Irish are coming off a 33-4 season after winning their fourth consecutive regular season and ACC tournament titles. They made it to the Elite Eight before falling to Stanford in a heartbreaking 76-75 loss. So far this year, they have five players averaging double-digits.

The Bucs will play three games in three days. Following Notre Dame, ETSU will play either No. 17/16 South Florida or Washington State on Saturday, Nov. 25.
