JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (Dec. 13, 2017) – The ETSU women’s basketball team will conclude their seven game road swing when they head to Raleigh, N.C. to take on NC State on Thursday. Tip-off is set for 7:00 p.m. inside Reynolds Coliseum.

ETSU Buccaneers (6-5) vs. NC State Wolfpack (8-2)
Scouting the Buccaneers
The Bucs continue to be led by guards Tianna Tarter (Johnson City, Tenn.) and Erica Haynes-Overton (Nashville, Tenn.). Both have scored in double figures in the last five games. Junior Britney Snowden (Pensacola, Fla.) leads the Bucs averaging 6.1 rebounds per game. Snowden leads the Bucs in offensive rebounds specifically, while Shy Copney (Johnson City, Tenn.) has 44 defensive rebounds. Copney has also been hot from the three-point line. Sophomore Jada Craig (Winston-Salem, N.C.) earned her third collegiate start following the Houston game. Sadasia Tipps (Hickory, N.C.) has been an aggressive defender blocking ten shots. When scoring 70-79 points in a game, ETSU holds a 3-0 record over their opponents.
Erica Haynes-Overton is ranked third in the nation for steals and sixth in steals per game. Tarter is ninth in steals and 34th in steals per game. Both are tied in the nation for the most steals in a single game with 11.

Tianna Tarter has been named to the Nancy Lieberman Watch List and the Citizen Naismith Trophy Award Watch List.
Spreading the Wealth
All ten Bucs have scored more than 15 points so far this season.
Series History vs. NC State
Thursday’s matchup will be the second meeting between ETSU and NC State. The last time they met was on March 19, 2015 when ETSU hosted NC State for the first round of the WNIT. ETSU fell to NC State 73-58.
Scouting NC State
NC State comes into Thursday’s game at 8-2. Their only losses are from South Dakota State and Rutgers. The Wolfpack are undefeated at home inside Reynolds Coliseum. With seven girls taller than 6’0”, NC State is ranked fifth nationally in rebounds. NC State has four players averaging double figures. Aislinn Konig is their best three-point shooter as she has 28. Leading scoring and rebounder Chelsea Nelson will be a threat for the Bucs down low. Akela Maize leads the Wolfpack in blocked shots and Kaila Ealey leads her team in assists.
ETSU hosts Michigan State this Saturday, Dec. 16 at 7:00 p.m. inside Brooks Gym.
