Scouting the Buccaneers

With a win over Western Carolina, the Bucs are now a part of the top half of the conference along with Mercer, Chattanooga, and Furman. Tianna Tarter (Johnson City, Tenn.) and Erica Haynes-Overton (Nashville, Tenn.) led the Bucs with double figures, while Sadasia Tipps (Hickory, N.C.) had the team high of nine rebounds. In the SoCon, the Bucs lead the conference in steals and have one of the highest free throw percentages. A win against UNCG would help the Bucs improve to 2-0 in conference play and help them to be one of the only undefeated conference teams.

Instant Impact

Freshman Erica Haynes-Overton has made an instant impact for the Bucs. She has started in all 16 games and is currently averaging 13.7 points per game. She leads the team in steals and is second on the team in points.

200th Career Milestone

With back-to-back wins, head coach Brittney Ezell is now ten wins away from picking up her 200th career win.

100th Career Games

Seniors Malloree Schurr (Montgomery, Texas) and Tianna Tarter have played in 100 career games for the Bucs. Schurr earned this honor against Northern Kentucky, while Tarter earned not only her 100th career game, but her 100th career start as well against Western Carolina.

ETSU Career Records

Tianna Tarter is moving up in ETSU’s careers records. She’s sixth in points, fifth in assists, and just three steals away from tying fourth place in career steals.

Tarter Earning Honors

So far this season, Tianna Tarter has been named to the Nancy Lieberman Watch List and the Citizen Naismith Trophy Award Watch List. She’s also one of 30 candidates for the Senior CLASS Award.

Spreading the Wealth

All ten Bucs have scored more than 40 total points this season.

Series History vs. UNCG

This will be the 29th meeting in program history. Last season the Bucs split with the Spartans. ETSU picked up a win at home, but fell on the road. The first meeting between the two teams was back in 1969.
