Scouting the Buccaneers
ETSU comes into Friday’s game at 9-8 overall and 2-0 in the conference. The Bucs snapped a four-game losing streak to now go on a three-game winning streak, including two big conference wins. Tianna Tarter (Johnson City, Tenn.) and Erica-Haynes Overton (Nashville, Tenn.) continue to be a threat for the Bucs. Britney Snowden (Pensacola, Fla.), Raven Dean (Charlotte, N.C.), and Shy Copney (Johnson City, Tenn.) are also key players to look out for. All three have greatly impacted the Bucs in each game. In ETSU’s last game, Copney was just one three-pointer away from tying her season-high of five three-pointers in a single game. Tarter continues to break ETSU career records as Haynes-Overton has been setting new personal bests. Malloree Schurr (Montgomery, Texas) and Sadasia Tipps (Hickory, N.C.) have been active rebounders. Alayjah Sherer (Tupelo, Miss.) and Anajae Stephney (Knoxville, Tenn.) have been solid putting up points off the bench.
Throughout the season, nine different Bucs have scored in double-figures. Tarter leads the team with 15 games in double figures, followed by Haynes-Overton who’s had 12.
This is the first time since the 2014-2015 season that the Bucs have started conference play at 2-0. During that season, ETSU won six straight conference games before falling to Chattanooga.
ETSU has used five different starting lineups this season. The most recent starting lineup has been Tarter, Haynes-Overton, Schurr, Snowden, and Tipps. This lineup is 3-3 and has won the last three games for the Bucs.
Moving Up in Records
Tianna Tarter has moved into sixth place with 1,628 career points. With 411 assists, she has also moved into fifth place in ETSU’s career records.
ETSU is second in the SoCon in attendance. The Bucs finished last season second in attendance.
Tarter on the Watch Lists
So far this season, Tianna Tarter has been named to the Nancy Lieberman Watch List and the Citizen Naismith Trophy Award Watch List. She’s also one of thirty candidates for the Senior CLASS Award.
There has been five double-doubles this season. Haynes-Overton and Tarter each have recorded two each, while Snowden has recorded one.
Spreading the Wealth

Series History vs. Chattanooga

All three fill up the stat sheet for the Mocs and have impacted every game. Chattanooga is currently outscoring their opponents 927-886. Their two SoCon wins came from UNCG and Western Carolina, which are the same opponents the Bucs have beaten so far this season.
