JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (Jan. 31, 2018) –After enjoying two home games inside Brooks Gym, the ETSU women’s basketball team will hit the road for three consecutive games. They begin with UNCG on Thursday, Feb. 1 in Greensboro, N.C. with tip-off set for 5:30 p.m.

ETSU Buccaneers (13-9, 6-1 SoCon) vs. UNCG Spartans (9-13, 3-4 SoCon)
Scouting the Buccaneers
The Bucs head into Thursday’s game at 13-9 and 6-1 in the SoCon. They have only played two conference road games and returned home undefeated. The Bucs are looking to continue their success. Senior guard Tianna Tarter (Johnson City, Tenn.) was named the SoCon Player of the Week after a dominance 33-point performance, tying her season-high. Raven Dean (Charlotte, N.C.), Sadasia Tipps (Hickory, N.C.), and Britney Snowden (Pensacola, Fla.) are all averaging five or more rebounds per game.
200th Career Milestone
Head coach Brittney Ezell is just five wins away from notching her 200th career win.
ETSU Career Records
Tianna Tarter has been actively moving up in ETSU’s career records. She is 100 points away from tying fifth place Siarre Evans (2007-10) with 1,829 career points. She currently has 402 free throws made and is only 19 free throws from tying Marsha Cowart (1980-83) who is in first place in ETSU’s career free throw records. In other career categories, Tarter is fifth in field goal attempts and three-point field goal attempts. She’s fourth in assist and steals as well.
Spreading the Wealth
All ten players have scored 50 total points of more this season. ETSU has six players that have scored 100 points or more.
ETSU has four players who have recorded 100 or more total rebounds this season; Sadasia Tipps (115), Britney Snowden (110), Tianna Tarter (105), and Erica Haynes-Overton (100)
In the month of January, ETSU had a conference record of 6-1.
Series History vs. UNCG
This will be the 30th meeting in program history. The Bucs have a 16-13 win record against the Spartans. Last season the Bucs split the regular season games with UNCG.
Last Time Out vs. UNCG
ETSU hosted UNCG in Johnson City. The Bucs picked up a 60-52 win to improve to 2-0 in the conference at that time, while UNCG fell to 0-2 in conference play.
UNCG enters Thursday’s contest with a 9-13 record and 3-4 in the conference. Sophomore Nadine Soliman was just named the SoCon Student-Athlete of the Week. She is UNCG’s leading scorer averaging 13.9 points per game. Not far behind Soliman is Ije Ajemba who averages 11.5 points per game. Ajemba is also averaging 12.5 rebounds per game. Soliman and Alexus Willey will be shooters to look out for from behind the arc, as they both have made more than 30 free throws on the season. UNCG is coming off of a 88-67 win over Western Carolina.
The Bucs will continue their North Carolina road tour with a game against the Western Carolina Catamounts on Saturday, Feb. 3. Tip-off is set for 5:30 p.m. inside the Ramsey Center.
