MOBILE, Ala. (Nov. 25, 2018) – After spending five days in Vancouver, BC, the ETSU women’s basketball team returns to the United States to take on the South Alabama Jaguars on Monday, Nov. 26 at 8:00 p.m. (ET)

Scouting the Buccaneers

The Bucs are 0-7 and are looking for their first win of the season. Erica Haynes-Overton (Nashville, Tenn.) leads the Bucs with 15.6 points per game. She’s also averaging 5.1 rebounds per game, just behind leading rebounder Sadasia Tipps (Hickory, N.C.) who has 5.3. Throughout seven games, ETSU has seen strong performances by Raven Dean (Charlotte, N.C.), Micah Scheetz (Knoxville, Tenn.) and Britney Snowden (Pensacola, Fla.). As a team, the Bucs are averaging 36.6 rebounds per game and 59.1 points per game.

Scouting South Alabama

The Jaguars are 4-0 with wins over Spring Hill, Southern Mississippi, Central Arkansas, and Southern. They have four players who are averaging points in double figures. Damaya Telemaque is leading her team with 12.8 points per game, shooting fifty-percent from the floor. Antoinette Lewis also averages in double figures and has only missed just seven shots all season to hold a seventy-four shooting percentage, while also averaging 7.8 rebounds per game. Lastly, Savanah Jones will be an expected shooter from the three-point line, as she leads the Jaguars in triples.

Series History

This will be the first meeting in program history.

Road Warriors

The Bucs began their season with three straight road games before returning to their home confines of Brooks Gym last Monday, Nov. 19. ETSU played three consecutive games in Vancouver, BC in the Vancouver Showcase and will play South Alabama tomorrow for their fourth game on the road.

What’s Next?

ETSU will return to Johnson City to play two home games on Thursday, Nov. 29 and Saturday, Dec. 1.
