Johnson City, Tenn. (Oct. 14) - The men's cross country team finished 15th and the women's team finished 21st at the Furman Invitational in Greenville, S.C. on Oct. 14.
The men's squad was led by Greg Sprowl who finished 33rd with a time of 26:39. Sprowl was joined by David Hefner (68th/27:22); Jason Hough (108th/28:24); Mitchell Thompson (118th/28:42) and Jamaal Saunders (142nd/29:24).
The women's team was led by Emily Campbell who finished the race in 18:59 and finished 35th. Campbell was joined by Roseline Addo (88th/20:13); Charity Roberts (158th/22:03); Jennifer Howard (186th/23:04); Grace Ridge (190th/23:10) and Tiffany Collier (212th/24:44).
Life University's Francis Kirwa won the men's race with a time of 24:36. Valerie Young, running unattached, won the women's race with a time of 17:19.
The men's race was won by Kentucky. Clemson, Appalachian State, Auburn and Brevard rounded out the top-5.
The women's race was won by Wake Forest. Auburn, Furman Alumni, Florida and Belmont completed the top-5.
