Lauren Stratton joined the ETSU women’s golf program as an assistant coach in the fall of 2013.

Stratton comes to the Buccaneers’ program after being a four-year starter and a first-team All-American at Vanderbilt University, where she graduated with a degree in economics in the spring of 2013. She enjoyed a great deal of success at Vanderbilt, where she was ranked No. 1 in the country and finished in the Top 10 in all but four events during the 2011-12 season. During her time with the Commodores, the team was consistently ranked in the Top 25 nationally.

"Lauren achieved the ranking of No. 1 player in the nation while playing at the highest level of collegiate golf at Vanderbilt," said ETSU head coach Stefanie Shelton. "She knows what it takes to be the best and can offer invaluable knowledge to the team in all areas of the game, including mental stamina and work ethic. She is a tremendous golfer with an excellent mind for the game."

Individually, Stratton earned a spot on the Southeastern Conference Academic Honor Roll three times, was an SEC All-Freshman Team selection in 2010, and was a first-team All-SEC pick in 2012.

Beyond her success in collegiate competition, Stratton has enjoyed quite an accomplished amateur career. She won both the Tennessee State Women’s Amateur Championship and the Tennessee Women’s Open Championship in 2012, while also earning a spot on Team USA for the World University Golf Championship in 2012. In addition, she was named the Tennessee Women’s Amateur of the Year in 2012.

Following her time at Vanderbilt, Stratton has continued to play professionally as a member of the Symetra Tour in 2013.

Originally from Spring Hill, Tenn., and a graduate of Independence High School, Stratton won a Class AAA high school state team title in 2005, while capturing the state’s Class AAA individual championship in both 2005 and 2007.
