JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (March 7, 2003) - The first round of the Bradford Creek Women's Intercollegiate Golf Tournament, scheduled to start Friday, March 7 at 8 a.m., has been delayed due to rain.
The 54-hole tournament has been reduced to a 36-hole competition with play resuming Saturday, March 8 at 8:30 a.m. Eighteen holes will be played on Saturday and Sunday to determine the competition's champions.
The East Carolina women's golf team is hosting the third annual tournament being played at the par-72, 6,093-yard Bradford Creek Golf Course in Greenville, N.C.
East Tennessee State is one of fifteen teams that will compete in this year's tournament. Also playing is Augusta State, Charleston Southern, Coastal Carolina, East Carolina, Elon, Maryland, Methodist College, Longwood, UNC Greensboro, UNC Wilmington, Radford, Richmond, St. John's and Western Carolina. In addition, Newberry College will have players entered in the individual competition.
