            JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (Feb. 23, 2005) - The East Tennessee State University women's golf team wrapped up third and final round play at the Lady Puerto Rico Classic on Wednesday, finishing 12^th in one of the toughest fields the Lady Buccaneers have every faced.

            Led by junior Ashley Barton (Seffner, Fla.) and freshman Maria Ringdahl (Oland, Sweden), both who finished tied for 30^th on the individual leaderboard, the Lady Bucs finished ahead of Texas and Penn State in the team competition. Winning the tournament was Southeastern Conference member Auburn, which ran away from second-place TCU by 21 strokes. On the individual leaderboard, Auburn made it a sweep thanks to Diana Ramage's victory with a three-round score of 216.

            Along with Barton and Ringdahl, senior Danielle O'Reilly (Whistler, British Columbia) finished 50^th, while freshmen Cindy Phillips (Johnson City, Tenn.) and Natalia Giraldo (Cali, Colombia) placed 54^th and 67^th, respectively.

            The Lady Bucs will return to play on March 5-6, when they will defend their 2004 team championship at the Lady Terrier Intercollegiate in Spartanburg, S.C. For complete results from the Lady Puerto Rico Classic, visit www.purduesports.collegesports.com.
