Buccaneers making second appearance at NCAA golf tournament

 

JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (May 5, 2010) - The ETSU women's golf team will open play in the NCAA East Regional Thursday at the Ironwood Country Club in Greenville, N.C. Live scoring and statistics will be available throughout the tournament at Golfstat.com.

 

The Buccaneers are making their second appearance all-time in the NCAAs, and this season marks the team's first appearance as an at-large team.

 

ETSU, which spent much of the season ranked in the nation's Top 50, was selected as one of 24 teams to compete in the regional hosted by East Carolina University. The NCAA regional format is made up of three tournaments and a total of 72 teams. To advance to the NCAA finals, teams must finish in the top eight at their respective regional.
