ORANGE PARK (March 10, 2012) The ETSU women’s golf team moved up two spots on the team leaderboard and now stands alone in seventh place following second round play Saturday in the JMU Eagle Landing Invitational at the Eagle Landing Golf Club.

Sophomore Sian Evans (Gillingham, England) continues to lead the Buccaneers’ effort, posting a team-best round of even-par 72 on Saturday. She is currently tied for eighth individually. Meanwhile, fellow sophomore Larissa Steinfeldt (Eschweiler, Germany) fired a strong round of 1-over-par 73 during the second round.

South Florida continues to lead the event, holding a slim one-stroke edge over Maryland. The Bucs are 19 strokes off the pace set by USF. Individually, Campbell’s Kaylin Yost holds the lead by one stroke with a score of 3-under 141, with several players within as few as four strokes of the lead.

Evans is among the group within striking distance of the individual lead, while ETSU freshman Gabriella Wahl (Heidenheim, Germany) currently has the second-best showing of Bucs’ other players, standing in a tie for 28th. Steinfeldt made the biggest move of any ETSU participant on the day, improving by 36 spots to a tie for 37th.
