JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (Oct. 2, 2016) – With two consecutive top-10 finishes, the ETSU women’s golf team will look to continue that streak at the Johnie Imes Invitational from Oct. 3-4 in Columbia, Mo.
Last Outing Recap
The Buccaneers finished in the top-10 after a strong finish in the final day at the Lady Paladin Invitational. Dominika Czudkova (Cesky Tesinm Czech Republic) led the surge on the third day with a career low 3-under 69 outing, and Loy Hee Ying (Baru, Kulaijaya, Malaysia) recorded the second-lowest round in the tournament with a 6-under 66 on day two. Loy placed tied for 5th for her second top-10 finish this season and her seventh career top-10 finish.
As a team, the Bucs recorded their lowest outing on the final round. They carded a 2-over 290 at the Furman Golf Course to move up two spots from the second round and improved a total of eight spots from day one.
Previewing Johnie Imes
Loy and Linda Dobele (Ogre, Latvia) have the two lowest average rounds scores for the Blue and Gold at 72.5 and 74.33, respectively. After her career-best day, Czudkova dropped her average round score to 77.67 for third-best on the team.
Missouri University is hosting the two-day Johnie Imes Invitational. The Club at Old Hawthorne Course is a par 72, 7,221-yard course. It is the ninth year the Tigers have hosted the tournament.
The tournament field features two former A-Sun Conference foes: Florida Gulf Coast and Kennesaw State. The Bucs will face off with one Southern Conference foe: Mercer. Missouri also competed at the Lady Paladin and finished in 6th place at the three-day event.
