ETSU sophomore Laura Jansone (Jurmala, Latvia) certainly did her part to make history for the ETSU women's golf team during the Atlantic Sun Conference Championships at the Ridges Golf and Country Club. Jansone opened the event with a school and conference record for single round score, posting a 5-under-par 67 to take the early lead on the individual leaderboard. While she struggled in the second round, she battled through a tough third round and managed two par saves on the final two holes -- including an unbelievable flop shot to save par on No. 18 -- to win the program's first ever conference individual title with a score of 67-82-77=226. Her efforts helped also spark the Bucs to a decisive 25-stroke victory over defending team champion Campbell, marking the first league title and NCAA berth in ETSU women's golf history.
