GREENVILLE, S.C. (Oct. 15, 2017) – ETSU’s women’s soccer team faced one of the best attacks in the country in their match at Furman on Sunday afternoon, and the Paladins were as advertised.
Furman, which went into the game in the top four in the nation in goals per game, shots per game, and points per game, scored twice in the first 7:15 on Sunday as the Bucs dropped a 5-0 result at Stone Field at Snyder Soccer Stadium.
SPARTANBURG, S.C. (Oct. 13, 2017) – An early deficit and a big performance from the nation’s leading scorer resulted in a 3-0 setback for the ETSU women’s soccer team at Wofford on Friday night.
The Terriers tallied twice in the first five minutes and scored all their goals before halftime – the last two from Hayley Younginer – in a Southern Conference match at Snyder Field in Spartanburg, S.C.
JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (Oct. 12, 2017) – The ETSU women’s soccer team heads to South Carolina for its final road trip of the regular season this weekend, and how the Bucs perform could impact where they land in the final Southern Conference standings.
ETSU visits Spartanburg to take on Wofford at 7:00 pm on Friday, October 13, and meets first-place Furman in Greensville at 2:00 pm on Sunday, October 15.
JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (Oct. 11, 2017) – For her outstanding production on the field and in the classroom, ETSU women’s soccer player Eleonora Goldoni (Ferrara, Italy) is the Southern Conference’s Student-Athlete of the Week for October 4-10, the league announced Wednesday.
The junior scored three goals, in a natural hat trick, in the Bucs’ 4-2 win over The Citadel on October 4.
In the classroom, Goldoni is a nutrition major with a 3.95 grade point average.
JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (Oct. 8, 2017) – With four starters sidelined, included their top two scorers, ETSU’s women’s soccer team knew generating enough offense would be a challenge in their Southern Conference match against Mercer on Sunday afternoon.
Turns out the Bucs had just enough.
A penalty kick by Sarah Connolly (Ballygowan, Northern Ireland) with 1:18 remaining in the first overtime provided the difference in a 1-0 victory on a soggy Sunday afternoon at Summers-Taylor Stadium.
JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (Oct. 7, 2017) – ETSU’s women’s soccer team hosted the first home game of Homecoming Week, and it went well.
Sunday, they’ll host the last game of Homecoming Week, with a Southern Conference match against Mercer. Kickoff is at 2:00 pm at Summers-Taylor Soccer Stadium.
The Bucs defeated The Citadel, 4-2, on Wednesday night. Mercer goes into Sunday’s match on a much quicker turnaround – it’s the second of a two-game road trip that began with a 3-2 win at Western Carolina on Friday night.
