JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (Feb. 6, 2006) - East Tennessee State University women's soccer head coach Heather Henson announced yesterday that six skilled young ladies have signed National Letters of Intent to join the Buccaneer squad for the 2006 season.

Prep: Four-year letterwinner at North Forsyth HS…coached by Eric Moore…captained the team from 2003-2006…was named Freshman of the Year in 2002, All-County team 2002-2005, Team MVP 2005, Offensive MVP 2005…member of the Atlanta United Soccer Association and the Norcross Magic Gold coached by Josh Burns…member of the Spanish Club, Beta Club, and had a 4.0 GPA throughout high school...community service includes volunteering in election polls
Personal: Born on Jan. 20, 1988…plans to major in business…daughter of Brad and Grace Bayles.

Kim Jones * Defender *
Prep: Four-year letterwinner at West Springfield HS….coached by Kellie Mastrodonato…named to the All-Patriot District Team in 2005…was an honor roll member…was in North Region HS semifinals in 2004…member of BYRC Attack coached by Ashu Savena…BYRC - Orange Classic Tournament champions (2005), WAGS League runner-up (2005), VA State Cup finalist (2000, 2002, 2003), VA State Cup champions (2002), Region I Director's Cup finalist (2003)…received academic award for achieving a 3.5 GPA during the season in 2005…was a member of the WSHS Symphonic Band where she was the 2nd chair flutist…community service includes Peer Buddy program and Krista's Christmas and Campaign work.
Personal: Born on April 21, 1988…plans to major in Education…daughter of George and Peyton Jones.

Personal: Born on Feb. 28, 1988 … plans to major in criminal justice…daughter of Jim and Karyl Kindell.
Coach Henson on Kindell: "Kia is an extremely athletic player who has a great presence on the field. She has improved her game every time we have seen her and has the ability to become dominant force."
Megan Masch * Goalkeeper *
Prep: Three-year letterwinner and starter for Princess Anne HS…coached by Matt Delaney…was named 1st team All-Beach, 2nd team All-Region, and 2nd team All-Tidewater…member of the Hampton Roads Piranhas…member of Beach FC Fyre coached by Max Moore and Karl Greaves…member of VA Olympic Development program and VA State team (1999, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004 and 2005)…also lettered in volleyball and basketball… HS state AAA basketball champion (2005)…was Girl's State selection and Wendy's Heisman All American nominee…member of the student council, Latin Club, Latin Honor Society, National Honor Society, and Latin Convention…named to the All-Beach Academic Team…community service includes tutoring, working at the public library and her church group.

Prep: Four-year letterwinner at Poteet HS...coached by Kelly Thomas…captain of her team in her senior year…was named All-District Forward/Midfielder in 2003, 2004, and 2005…named Tournament MVP at the Emily Hunter Memorial in 2006…named High School Player of the Year by the City of Mesquite, Texas in 2004…was named Pre-Season All-Metro First Team in 2006…helped her team to an overall 53-20-4 record during her career…received All Tournament Team and two team championships (2005 and 2006)…HS team won Berkner HS Invitational in 2005 and 2006, were regional finalists in 2004, 2005 and 2006…was HS career goal leader with 82 goals from her freshman - junior years…also played for FC Texas 88' coached by Ashley Gordon…was an honor roll student and was a member of the student council. Prep: Three-year letterwinner and starter at Mansfield Summit HS … coached by Kirby Davis…captain during her senior year…helped her team to a high school district championship title in 2004…team undefeated in district play…started every HS game thus far…named to the 2nd team All-District in 2003 and was named to the 1st team All-District in 2004 and 2005…held the freshman scoring record…named the Fort Worth Star-Telegram and Dallas Morning News, "Player to Watch" in 2005…also played for the FC Texas ‘88 soccer club coached by Ashley Gordon…with soccer club, held Raleigh Shootout Tournament championship (2001), #1 national ranking (2003), Region III Premier League championship (2003) and runners-up (2004), North Texas State Cup championship (2002 and 2004) and finalist (2003)…North Texas Olympic Development team (2001)…was student body president in 2005 and student body vice president in 2004…was also involved in student council, Spanish Club, comedy improv troupe, Summit Athletic Council, and National Honor Society…received Who's Who Among HS Students and was also a National Merit Achievement Scholar participant…community service includes volunteering for the Mansfield Police Carnival, working school food drives and volunteering as a soccer referee.
