JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (September 28, 2006) - The ETSU women's soccer team picked up their first conference win on the season as they downed North Florida, 4-1 on Thursday night. The Bucs improve to 2-6-2 overall and 1-1-1 in the conference while the Lady Ospreys fall to 7-2, 1-1.

The Bucs strong defense was then able to close out the half with a 1-0 lead.
ETSU came out fighting in the second period as junior Katie O'Bryan (
The Lady Osprey's cut the lead in half as Caitlin Kovacs found the back of the net during the 58th minute of play. The Bucs answered back as Jordan Monty (
With less than four minutes to go, Monty found the back of the net again for her second score of the night. Monty now leads the Bucs with five goals on the season.
The Bucs outshot the Ospreys 18-9 and were even on the corner kicks at six.
"We came out with a set game plan tonight, and we executed it," said head coach Heather Henson. "The girls came out here ready to battle and weren't going to leave without the win. They came ready to play for 90 minutes tonight and it was just a great win."
The Bucs continue conference play at home as they are set to take on the Jacksonville Dolphins Saturday, September 30. Game time is set for 1:00 p.m.
