Miami (OH) and Winthrop kick off the Invitational on Friday at 4:30 p.m. with ETSU and Temple facing off in the nightcap at 7 p.m. The RedHawks will face the Owls on Sunday at 1 p.m., and the Buccaneers and Eagles close out the tournament at 3:30 p.m.
The Bucs (3-1-1) are 2-0-0 at home coming into the weekend after wins over Tennessee Wesleyan 4-0 and King College 2-0. Freshman Ramey Kerns (Kings Mountain, N.C.) leads ETSU in goals (3), points (7) and shot percentage (.273).
ETSU is 2-0-0 all-time against Winthrop after a pair of 3-0 wins in 2003 and 2004. This will be the first ever meeting between the Bucs and Temple.
The Owls (2-3-0) have lost two of their last three contests after falling to Albany 3-2 and Niagara 2-1. Temple is led by Kate Yurkovic as she leads the team with three goals and nine points.
Winthrop (0-2-1) is looking for its first win this season as the Eagles dropped matches to Appalachian State 2-1 and Jacksonville 3-0 after tying Marshall to open the season. WU is led by Tricia Vensel as she has tallied one goal and two assists on the season.
Miami (OH) (3-2-0) comes into the ETSU Soccer Invitational having lost two-straight after opening the season with a three-game win streak. The RedHawks, who are in the middle of a six game road swing, have four players with at least three goals. Jess Kodiak tops the list for Miami with three goals, five assist and 11 points already in her sophomore campaign.
