JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (May 15, 2013) – The ETSU women’s soccer program announced the addition of its latest recruit on Friday as Molly Collinson (Cramlington, England) has signed her National Letter of Intent to play for the Lady Buccaneers.
Collinson comes to ETSU having played soccer in England for Gateshead College Academy for Sport. This season, Collinson has helped Gateshead win the English Schools’ Football Association (ESFA) Under 18 Cup, British Colleges Sport (BCS) Elite National League and BCS Elite National Cup. Collinson’s Gateshead team competes in the final of the BCS Elite Playoffs next week for a chance to win a record three cup trophies and one league championship in a single season.
“We are very pleased that Molly will be joining us,” ETSU head coach Adam Sayers said. “She possesses good technical ability, along with a keen tactical understanding of the game from an attacking standpoint. She is having a fantastic season with Gateshead, and we are looking forward to her transferring that form to ETSU this upcoming season.”
Collinson has also played for Newcastle United Women’s FC, helping the squad gain promotion in 2012.
Molly is the daughter of Allison and Stephen Collinson. She plans to major in psychology.
