Southern Conference Announces Pre-season Women's Soccer Poll

Spartanburg, SC (August 30, 2002) - The Southern Conference released the women's soccer pre-season poll as selected by the coaches Friday. Furman University was selected to win the 2002 title, tallying seven first place votes and 97 points. East Tennessee State was selected to finish tenth with 19 points. UNC Greensboro, winner of the 2001 Southern Conference tournament, was picked third overall with 85 points. The coaches also named an 11-member preseason all-league team.
