JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (June 7, 2004) - East Tennessee State University women's soccer coach Heather Henson announced today the addition of junior transfer Erin Ferris to the squad for the 2004-05 season.
"Erin will play for us as an outside midfielder and may even see time as a frontrunner as well. She has good speed and believes and knows how important the position of outside midfielder is," commented Henson. "Her services in the attacking third will help our offense."
A native of Columbus, Ohio, Ferris joins the ETSU team after a two-year career at the University of Memphis where she saw action as a midfielder. In her freshman season she won the team's "Spirit" Award.
A two-year letterwinner at Worthing Kilbourne H.S., Ferris played for Chris Moles, where as a senior she led her team in points (31), goals (12) and assists (8). She was a two-year captain of her high school soccer team and captain of her club soccer team. Ferris also received two letters in track helping her track team win league championship and the 4x100, 4x200 and 4x400 relay teams she participated on qualified for regional and state championships.
Ferris joins ETSU's 2004-05 recruiting class of six freshmen announced in early February.
