CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (August 30, 2003) - The Buccaneer soccer team won their first regular season game 3-0 against the Lipscomb Lady Bisons in their first game of the Lady Gov Classic on Friday night. Sophomore Erin Ashton (New Bern, N.C.) led the way for the Bucs with two goals on the night. Ashton opened up scoring in the first half with an unassisted goal at in the 31st minute of the game. Ashton would increase the Buccaneers lead with a goal earned off of a penalty kick six minutes later. With just 1:34 left in the game, freshman Lindsay Hoffman (Frederick, Md.) added the third goal for the Buccaneers on the night. The Lady Gov Classic will continue on Sunday in Clarksville, Tenn. as the Buccaneers take on the Austin Peay Lady Govs on Sunday, Aug. 31st at 2:00 p.m. C.S.T.
