SPARTANBURG, SC (October 12, 2004) - East Tennessee State's Sarah Prendergast has been named the Southern Conference women's soccer Player of the Week for October 12.
A sophomore goalkeeper from Palm Bay, FL, Prendergast led the Bucs to a 1-0-1 record last week. She tallied 13 saves against the College of Charleston on October 7 while shutting out the Cougars in 110 minutes of action. Prendergast then picked up a 2-0 win over Chattanooga on October 10, recording nine saves in the shutout. In 200 minutes in the goal, Prendergast recorded 22 saves and two shutouts for the Bucs.
Other top performers include Appalachian State's Dana Murphy, College of Charleston's Kristin Rhyne, Anna Betton from Furman and UNC Greensboro's Jennifer Stillman.
