MT. PLEASANT, S.C. (Oct. 7, 2004) - East Tennessee State and the College of Charleston fought back and forth for 110 minutes but no team could score a goal and the game ended in a 0-0 tie tonight in women's soccer action in front of 263 fans at Patriots Point Field in Mt. Pleasant, SC.The tie against the Cougars is the Bucs third tie in the last four games, and was the fifth time ETSU has gone into overtime this season.

The Cougars go to 4-4-3 overall and 2-2-2 in the SoCon, while the Bucs go to 3-4-3 and 0-1-3.

The College of Charleston blasted a total of 18 shots in regulation but 11 saves by Buc goalkeeper Sarah Prendergast (Palm Bay, Fla.) during that same time kept the Cougars off the board.  ETSU offense was held at bay in the first half, but staged a strong offensive effort in the second half with four shots on goal.

ETSU's Erin Ashton (New Bern, N.C.) led the Bucs with three shots on the night, while Kristin Rhyne led the Cougar offensive.

An injury with 1:18 left in the second overtime delayed the contest for 25 minutes.

The Buccaneers will return to Johnson City to host the Southern Conference leading UT Chattanooga Mocs this Sunday, Oct. 10 at 2:00 p.m.
