Wednesday, September 01, 2004

JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (Sept. 1, 2004) - This past weekend, the East Tennessee State University women's soccer team held a soccer clinic at the Unicoi County Family YMCA in Erwin. This year was the third year that the Unicoi County YMCA has hosted the ETSU Soccer clinic. "We saw some familiar faces. It is great to watch them grow up through our clinics," said head coach Heather Henson. "The smiles on the faces of the girls and boys were great. The 5-6 years olds were a great group this year. Their energy and enthusiasm to learn the game of soccer was energizing to everyone there." The day was sunny for the 65 children who attended the soccer clinic. Those in attendance were able to work with members of the ETSU soccer team to develop their technical skills and also were able to play in small setting games. The Bucs continue their season with a road trip to Tennessee Tech. this Friday, Sept. 3 at 3:00 p.m. before returning home to host UNC Asheville on Monday, Sept. 6 at 7:00 p.m.
