Ashton and Morris named to All-Conference Team

(November 2, 2005) - ETSU seniors Erin Ashton (New Bern, N.C.) and Meghan Morris (Bowie, Md.) have both been named to the Atlantic Sun All-Conference second team.  Playing in ETSU's inaugural year in the A-Sun, Ashton and Morris become the first soccer players to earn all-conference honors. 


            Ashton, a biology and premed major, has 11 goals, and eight assists on the season for a total of 30 points.  Ashton has scored six goals in conference play including a pair against Mercer on September 29th.  She ranks second in the A-Sun in goals and is tied for fifth in assists.  She was named the A-Sun Player of the Week twice during the season.


            Morris, a communications and broadcasting major, also garnered an A-Sun Player of the Week nod once this season.  The senior has started in all18 games for the Bucs this season.  She has five goals and one assist on the year.  Morris has scored two unassisted goals in conference play.


            Ashton and Morris will be leading the Bucs into their first A-Sun conference tournament tomorrow as the Bucs take on Jacksonville at 4 p.m. at Gardner-Webb University.  The winner of the game advances to the semi-finals to face FAU at 4 p.m. on Friday.
