JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (October 6, 2008) - After a brief two game homestand the ETSU women's soccer team returns to action as they travel to Atlantic Sun Conference rival USC Upstate for a 7:00 p.m., contest Tuesday, at County University Stadium.

The Bucs (4-6, 2-2 A-Sun) picked up three points in the league's standings this past weekend, splitting both their A-Sun matches at Summers-Taylor Stadium. ETSU opened the weekend by falling to Lipscomb 1-0 in overtime Friday, but then bounced back with an impressive 1-0 win over league-leading Belmont, Sunday.

Leading the way for the Bucs was freshman Megan Masch (Virginia Beach, Va.) and junior Jordan Monty (Mesquite, Texas).

Masch stopped 11 shots in 187:45 minutes of play, while posting a remarkable .909 goals against average in both weekend matches. The first-year starter currently sits fourth among conference keepers in saves per match and shutouts.

On the offensive side of the ball, Monty was the difference maker against the Bruins, firing home the game-winning goal in the first half. The explosive forward now leads the conference in shots per match, while leading the Bucs in goals, assists and points.

USC Upstate (3-8, 1-3 A-Sun) also split with Belmont and Lipscomb over the weekend. The Spartans lost to Bruins 1-0 Friday, before responding and picking up its first conference victory against Lipscomb 2-1, Sunday. Freshman forward Caitlin Robinson and junior midfielder Santana DeFreitas lead Upstate with five points, while junior goalkeeper Brittany Draughty leads the conference with 78 saves.
