ETSU women's soccer opens 2010 fall camp

Tuesday, August 10, 2010

JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (Aug. 5, 2010) - The ETSU women's soccer team reported to campus on Thursday to start preparing for the 2010 season as head coach Heather Henson and staff welcomed the 25 player squad to fall camp.

"We have had a great commitment from our players over the summer with their training and fitness," Henson said. "It'll be great to finally get them out on the practice fields so that we can start getting ready for the 2010 season. The depth of this team is something we haven't had before, and that is really exciting for us."

The women's soccer team returns four of the top five scorers from 2009 as well as second team All-Conference goal keeper selection Megan Masch (Virginia Beach, Va.). The team will also have ten newcomers this season, as it will be the biggest group Henson has coached while in Johnson City.

ETSU has exhibition matches at Charleston Southern (Aug. 12) and home against Radford (Aug. 15) before opening the season on the road at UNC Asheville on Aug. 22 at 2 p.m.
