Lengthy and late quarterfinals force time change
BRISTOL, Tenn. (April 19, 2013) – The times for the Atlantic Sun Tennis Championship Semifinals on Saturday have been changed due to the late completion of Friday’s quarterfinals.
Both women’s semifinal matches will move back one hour, moving the first match of the day between No. 1 ETSU and No. 4 Stetson to 10 a.m. The second is now scheduled to begin at 12:30 p.m., between No. 2 North Florida and No. 3 USC Upstate.
The men’s afternoon matches will be pushed back by 30 minutes. No. 1 North Florida and No. 4 FGCU will play at 3 p.m., while No. 2 ETSU and No. 6 Lipscomb begin at 5:30 p.m.
With a positive forecast set for Saturday and Sunday, all matches will be played outdoors at the ETSU Tennis Complex. Inclement weather forced the men’s and women’s quarterfinals to be played at separate locations on Friday. Two matches were contested at the Bristol Country Club, while two more were played at the Bristol Racquet Club. Each facility houses four courts, and tightly contested matches made for some times of five and six hours in length.
