JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (April 11, 2014) - Junior Jessica Brumit (Elizabethton, Tenn.) earned her eighth consecutive singles victory Friday as the ETSU women's tennis team improved its Atlantic Sun record to 6-1, beating Kennesaw State, 6-1. Brumit has not suffered a setback in singles play since Feb. 23 versus No. 47 VCU.

The Buccaneers (11-8, 6-1) began the day capturing the doubles point, with Brumit and Giulia Andreazza (Balneario Camboriu, Brazil) picking up their sixth consecutive win, while Salma Dahbi (Marrakech, Morocco) and Sofia Espana (Mexico City, Mexico) earned a victory at the No. 3 spot.

In singles play, ETSU won six of the seven points, with each win coming in straight sets.

Lyn Yee Choo (Kuching, Malaysia) knocked off Virginie Stein, 6-2, 6-4, at No. 1 singles to extend her singles win streak to five matches.

ETSU, winners of eight of its last nine matches, will conclude regular season play Saturday, April 12 at 2:00 p.m., as it hosts Mercer.

Between singles and doubles play Saturday, ETSU will honor its three outgoing senior, Dahbi, Espana, and Andreazza.

"We hope we have the same great support we've had all season from our fans to thank our seniors in their last home match of their careers," ETSU head coach Travis Sandlant said. "I'm sure it will be an emotional day, but a fun one, as well."
