Women's Tennis Falls To Furman
Tuesday, April 04, 2000 Greenville, S.C. - The Furman women's tennis team defeated ETSU 7-2 at the Minor Mickel Tennis Center to remain undefeated in the conference. Furman's Megan Dunigan rallied to defeat ETSU's Paty Vega at No. 1 singles to clinch the match for Furman. Dunigan downed Vega 6-4, 4-6, 7-5. Furman won five of six singles matches and claimed two of the three doubles matches for the crucial conference victory. ETSU's Mami Inoue claimed the Lady Bucs lone singles win over Meredith Moore 7-6, 2-6, 6-4 to give Furman its first conference singles loss of the season. The Lady Paladins are now 29-1 in conference singles matches this year. Furman improves to 11-6 on the season, 5-0 in the conference while East Tennessee State falls to 7-4 overall, 2-1 in the conference. Furman has now won five straight matches.
