Day Two Concludes at Virginia Tech Fall Invitational

Blacksburg, Va. (September 28, 2002) - Tatiana Arriarian (Cochabamba, Bolivia) and Amiee Villavincencio (Lexington, Ky.) defeated Amy Costello and Alison Lindsey of Radford, 8-1 to move into the semi-finals of the consolation bracket set for Sunday at noon. Junior Courtney McInnis (Tampa, Fla.) advanced into the semi-final round of her consolation bracket after defeating Cristina Glas of Radford, 6-4, 6-2. She will play Rebecca Vanderlest of James Madison University tomorrow at 8 a.m. with the winner advancing into the finals. Three other Buccaneers defeated their opponents in second round play before losing in the quarterfinals. The tournament, hosted by Virginia Tech, will conclude on Sunday. The final round is set to begin tomorrow morning at 8.
