JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (Sept. 30, 2004) - The East Tennessee State University women's tennis team will be hosting the 14h annual ETSU Tennis Fall Collegiate Class. The two-day tournament is set to begin this Friday, Oct. 1 at the ETSU Tennis Complex and Liberty Bell courts. This year's field will consist of 11 teams and 145 matches.

"It will be a strong tournament even though it had to be rescheduled due to Hurricane Ivan. We have a good field of competition," said Head Coach Steve Brooks. "Our girls have been working and practicing hard and are excited to get their fall season underway."

Play will begin on Friday at 12:30 p.m. and will last until 6:00 p.m. and will include one round of singles and two rounds of doubles. On Saturday, action will start at 8:00 a.m. and will conclude at 5:00 p.m. Saturday's play will wrap-up the tournament and include two rounds of doubles and the final round of singles.

"This tournament will be a good gauge to see how we will perform at VT next weekend. Unfortunately, our new assistant coach Margie Brown Katras will not be able to watch us play as shewill be in Palm Springs, Calif. Representing the Mountain Tennis Empire Association as her and her 5.0 team compete in the USTA National Championship."

Admission to the tournament is free. To view the draw sheets, which will be updated at the conclusion of each day's play, please visit women's tennis main page at www.etsubucs.com.
