JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (Sept. 30, 2010) - The ETSU women's tennis team will participate in their third tournament of the fall when they take part in the 17th annual Virginia Tech Hokie Fall Invitational, beginning on Friday.
The Lady Bucs had plenty of success in their first two events of the fall as they finished the USC Upstate Fall Invitational and the ETSU Fall Invitational with a 21-4 combined singles mark. The team also combined to finish the two events with a 5-2 doubles mark.
The event features players from Davidson, East Carolina, East Tennessee State, James Madison, Liberty, Louisville, Marshall, Maryland-Baltimore County, Radford, Richmond, Penn State, UNC Wilmington, William & Mary, Winthrop and host Virginia Tech.
The tournament includes players from 26 countries and 100 total players from 15 teams. There will be six 16 player singles draws, one 8 player singles draw and three 16 team doubles brackets.
Both the indoor and outdoor courts will be utilized during the tournament and play will begin each day at 9 a.m. On Friday, there will be one round of doubles followed by two rounds of singles, Saturday will have two rounds of doubles followed by one round of singles and all finals will be played Sunday at the Burrows-Burleson Tennis Center.
