JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (Mar. 17, 2011) - The ETSU women's tennis team will hit the road once again for two pivotal matches at Campbell and USC Upstate beginning on Friday afternoon.
The Bucs open the weekend with a very important match at Campbell on Friday at 2 p.m. The Bucs are one match behind the league leading Camels in the A-Sun standings. ETSU along with UNF, Kennesaw State, and Stetson each have just one loss in league play. ETSU will then take on USC Upstate on Saturday at 2 p.m.
ETSU heads into the weekend with an even 6-6 (2-1 A-Sun) record on the season. The Bucs are coming off two solid wins against Belmont and Lipscomb at home over the weekend, before falling at Virginia Tech. The Bucs have received strong play from the bottom part of their lineup as senior Andra Voinea (Brasov, Romania) leads the team with an 8-3 (4-0 A-Sun) in dual play.
Campbell enters the weekend with an 8-4 overall record, including a perfect 4-0 mark in A-Sun play. Karolina Chernaya leads the team with a 10-2 overall mark and a perfect 4-0 record in A-Sun play, while playing mostly in the No. 2 position. Senior Lisa Sutton has also been solid for the Camels as she owns a 9-3 overall record and a 3-1 A-Sun mark.
