Inclement weather forces 2012 Championships to indoor facility

JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (April 22, 2012) – The ETSU men’s and women’s tennis teams will play for the 2012 Atlantic Sun Championships at the indoor courts of the Bristol Racquet Club, as overnight rain and continual inclement weather have forced the shift in venue.

Tentatively, ETSU’s No. 1-seeded men’s team will begin play against No. 2 North Florida at noon, while the second-seeded women’s team is scheduled to begin its title match against top seed North Florida at 4 p.m.

During the regular season, the ETSU men went a perfect 3-0 at the Bristol Racquet Club, defeating Appalachian State and Tennessee Tech by scores of 6-1 and sweeping Florida Gulf Coast 7-0. The women’s team also played three matches in Bristol, Tenn., taking down Radford 4-3 in its season opener and earning a two-victory weekend against Stetson, 6-1, and FGCU, 7-0.
