SKILLMAN, N.J. (Feb. 23, 2016) – Following seven straight victories to open its spring season, the ETSU women’s tennis team cracked the Oracle/ITA DI Women's Team Rankings Tuesday coming in at No. 73.
“We are just focusing on continuing to work hard and let everything else take care of itself,” said ETSU Head Coach Travis Sandlant. “We know if we keep this effort up only good things can happen to this program.”
The Bucs own wins over USC Upstate, Appalachian State, Morehead State, Tusculum, Emory, UT Martin and Middle Tennessee State this season to notch not only the first 7-0 start in program history but also the program’s first national team ranking since 2010.
ETSU will look improve on that national ranking this weekend when it travels to North Carolina for a pair of matches against UNC Wilmington Friday and Elon Sunday.
“Our overall goal is yet to come and hopefully at the end of the season we achieve the goal that we originally set and that is winning a conference championship,” said Sandlant.
