Eight home matches will be played at the Dave Mullins Tennis Complex

JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (October 20, 2017) – The ETSU women’s tennis team released its schedule on Friday that highlights 20 regular season matches, including eight home dates.

In the spring of 2017, the Bucs finished 14-6 and 6-1 in conference play. ETSU advanced in the first two rounds of conference play, but fell to Furman 4-2 to end their season.

“This year presents a really challenging schedule for our team where everyone needs to step up. This tough schedule will get us ready for conference play. I look forward to see how our team responds,” shared head women’s tennis coach Ricky Rojas.

The Bucs kick off their season with three match days in a row. Beginning on Jan. 26, 2018, ETSU will travel to Blacksburg, Va. to take on Virginia Tech and immediately following they will take on Tennessee on Jan. 27 and Memphis on Jan. 28, both in Knoxville, Tenn.

ETSU’s first home match of the season is scheduled for Feb. 3 against Tusculum College. They have two weeks off before they hit the road to Akron, Ohio to compete against Akron on Feb. 17 and West Virginia on Feb. 18. Before returning home the Bucs take on NC State.

During the weekend of Feb. 23-25, ETSU will host Miami (OH) and Western Kentucky. They then begin their longest road matches starting with SoCon opponent Chattanooga on March 3. During their road trip, the Bucs are scheduled to play North Florida, Central Florida, and two conference opponents; Mercer and UNCG.

The Bucs will host their first SoCon opponent Western Carolina on March 31, before they travel to their last road match against VCU on March 24.

Four home matches conclude the regular season schedule for the Bucs. Wofford, Furman, Samford, and Appalachian State will all travel to Johnson City, Tenn. The match against Appalachian State will be ETSU’s senior day as they celebrate their four seniors.

The SoCon Tournament is set for April 20-22 in Chattanooga, Tenn.

All home matches are played at the Dave Mullins Tennis Complex located behind the Football Stadium on campus.
