Esguerra finished fourth in her bracket

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (Nov. 12, 2017) – The ETSU women’s tennis team concluded play at the FSU All Conference Showdown today. They all wrapped up their fall tournament schedule.

In the Gold Singles Draw, Ioanna Markesini (Athens, Greece) competed for seventh place and won 6-7, 6-2, 6-2 against Maryann Rompf from UW. Also competing for a seventh place spot was Alory Pereira (Sao Paulo, Brazil). Pereira faced Silvia Bordes from UCF and was at the time winning 6-7, 6-1 before the match was not finished due to a UCF injury.

Melissa Esguerra (Derrimutt, Australia) competed for third place today in her draw. She fell 6-1, 6-0 to Lidia Burrows from MTSU and finished fourth.

Yi Chi Ma (Kaohsiung, Taiwan) also competed for third place today. She earned it with a 7-6, 6-3 win over Furman’s Carol Kerman.

The FSU All Conference Showdown concludes fall action for the Bucs. They will begin their spring season on Jan. 26 at Virginia Tech.
