ETSU has three matches this week

JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (Feb. 20, 2018) – The ETSU women’s tennis team hits the road to take on NC State on Wednesday, Feb. 21 at the J.W. Isenhour Tennis Center. The match is set for 8:00 p.m. Following this match, the Bucs will host back-to-back matches beginning with Miami on Feb. 23 and Western Kentucky on Feb. 25.

About the Bucs

ETSU is currently 3-4 with their latest win coming from Big 12 opponent West Virginia this past weekend. Senior Ioanna Markesini (Athens, Greece) was named the SoCon Women’s Tennis Player of the Week earlier today, as she holds a 4-1 record in singles. Also with four wins is freshman Andrea Pascual-Larrinaga (Basauri, Spain). Alory Pereira (Sao Paulo, Brazil) has also been consistent for the Bucs with a 3-1 record at the No. 2 slot. ETSU has a 17-19 singles record and an 8-12 doubles record.

About NC State | Feb. 21 | 8:00 p.m. | J.W. Isenhour Tennis Complex

NC State is currently 4-5. They recently opened ACC play, but fell 6-1 to Duke. Adriana Reami leads her team with a 13-5 singles record, followed by Taylor Bridges who had a 10-6 record. The Wolfpack has a 64-49 record in singles and a 35-24 record in doubles. Anna Rogers and Claudia Wiktorin are NC State’s strongest double duo with a 15-5 record.

About Miami (OH) | Feb. 23 | 2:00 p.m. | Mullins Tennis Complex

Miami also enters the weekend at 4-5. They are coming off back-to-back wins from Marshall and Murray State. They also defeated Dayton and Wright State. The RedHawks have a roster of nine with six of them being freshman. Anastasiia Vasiukhina and Nelli Pnomareva are their seniors and Emily Struble is a junior. They are led by head coach Ricardo Rosas.

About Western Kentucky | Feb. 25 | TBA

Western Kentucky comes into the week with a 3-2 overall record are 1-0 in CUSA. Moka Ito leads her team with a 13-4 singles record. In doubles, Ito combines with Monica Malinene and the duo is 8-5. As a team, Western Kentucky has a 49-30 record in singles and a 20-17 record in doubles.
