The Bucs will play two matches  

JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (March 1, 2018) – The ETSU women’s tennis team will play two matches this weekend. First, they will kick of conference action with a match against the Chattanooga Mocs, followed by a non-conference matchup against North Florida.

About the Bucs

The Bucs head into the match with a 4-6 record. In the past two weeks, ETSU has picked up back-to-back SoCon Player of the Week awards. Ioanna Markesini (Athens, Greece) earned the first award after going undefeated in singles play in both matches against West Virginia and the Akron. This past week, Alory Pereira (Sao Paulo, Brazil) finished the week with a 5-1 record and also went undefeated at the No. 2 singles. As a team, ETSU is 25-29 in singles and 13-16 in doubles. 

About Chattanooga | Saturday, March 3 | 10:00 a.m. | Guerry Tennis Center, Chattanooga, Tenn.

Chattanooga enters Saturday’s match with a .500 record sitting at 4-4. The Mocs have lost their last three matches to Clemson, MTSU, and Tulane. This will be their first conference match of the season. Delaney Edwards, Emma Van Hee, and Bogdana Zaporozhets each have nine wins for the Mocs. The team holds a 64-66 record in singles and a 28-24 record in doubles. Chattanooga’s strongest doubles duo is Caroline Hall and Bogdana Zaporozhets, as they hold a 6-2 record.

About North Florida | Sunday, March 4 | 3:00 p.m. | UNF Tennis Complex, Jacksonville, Tenn.

UNF enters Sunday’s match with a 6-4 record. Lucia Montano leads Ospreys with 12 wins in singles, while Rafaela Gomez, Luise Intert, and Florencia Rossi each have eight wins apiece. UNF holds a 52-52 record in singles and a 25-26 record in doubles. Rafaela Gomez and Luise Internt lead their squad with a 10-5 record. The Ospreys have a 5-2 record when playing at home.
