Prior to ETSU: Reached a ranking of 1182 in the Women’s Tennis Association (WTA) in 2011, and in doubles, achieved a career high ranking of 1225 in 2012.

Markesini carried a No. 2 junior ranking in Greece and was tabbed ninth in Open Women Greece. She is also competing in the Greek Tennis Federation Championships and Masters, and was honored by BNP Paribas with the Fair Play Award at the Junior Tennis Masters in Athens. The native Greek also recorded her highest WTA ranking win against Maria Sakkari who was ranked 638 at the time in 2012.

Personal: Born Nov. 23, 1995... Daughter of Geroge Markesinis and Eleni Tsiambousi.
