Track & Field Prepares for Virginia Tech

Johnson City, Tenn. -- East Tennessee Track and Field team will once again be on the road Friday, January 19 and Saturday, January 20, as they travel to Blacksburg, Va. to participate in the Virginia Tech Invitational.

In women's action, Roseline Addo, fresh off her record-setting 400-meter championship at the University of Kentucky's Wildcat Invitational, will take part in the 800-meters as well as the 4x400 meter relay. Jennifer Howard will also also be a member of the 4x400 meter relay team in addition to running in the 200-meter event.

On the men's side, Evan Hawkins, coming off a record-setting perfmance of his own, will run in the 200-meter race as well as the 4x400 meter relay. David Cabbler, Jason Farr and Tim DeLaughter will handle the jumping events for the Bucs. Cabbler will handle Triple Jump and Long Jump duties as DeLaughter will also participate in the Long Jump. Farr will take on the High Jump responsibilities.

The Virginia Tech Invitational is the final tune up for the Bucs before they return to the Memorial Center for the Pepsi/Walker Invitational scheduled for Friday, January 26 and Saturday, January 27.
