Ricciardi takes high jump title at Clemson opener

Clemson, S.C. (December 3, 2005) - Junior Anna Marie Ricciardi (Canfield, Ohio) opened the indoor track and field season by capturing the high jump title at the Clemson Opener Saturday afternoon.

           

Ricciardi recorded a final successful jump of 1.73 meters (five feet, eight inches) defeating her closest competitors, Amber Wilson of Georgia Southern and Anni Korhonen of Clemson, by three inches.

           

Topping 21 competitors from 12 different schools, Ricciardi's 1.73 meter jump registered just short of the NCAA Provisional mark of 1.78.

           

The remaining members of the ETSU track and field team open their indoor season at the Appalachian Invitational in Boone, N.C. Sunday, December 4.
