Dahl to race for 1500m title at 2:09 Eastern

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (June 12, 2009) - Saturday's final two hours of the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field National Championships will be broadcast live on CBS Sports, beginning at 1:00 p.m. Eastern time from John McDonnell Field, located on the University of Arkansas campus.

Senior distance runner Heidi Dahl (Orem, Utah) raced her way into the championship field of 12 competitors in the 1500m on Thursday evening by winning the prelims with an ETSU record time of 4:14.91. Dahl, an Atlantic Sun and NCAA Mideast Regional Champion in the 1500m, will now face stiff competition tomorrow afternoon when she takes the start line at 2:09 Eastern time.

Dahl, who has a chance to win a National Championship, also made news on Thursday evening by qualifying for the 2009 USA National Outdoor Track and Field Championships. The Orem, Utah native's time in the prelims was fast enough to make the trip to Eugene, Ore. later this month (June 25-28).
