CLEMSON, S.C. (Jan. 7, 2010) - After having a month off from competition, the ETSU men's and women's track and field team returns to action when the Bucs compete at the 2010 Clemson Invitational this weekend inside the Clemson Indoor Track and Field Complex.

The two-day meet kicks off Friday evening at 5 p.m. with the men's and women's 60m hurdles (prelims), along with the women's high jump and shot put. Eighteen men's and women's combined titles will be contested on day one.

ETSU will send 30 of its athletes to South Carolina this weekend (19 men/11 women), as they look to build off their strong showing from the season opener at Appalachian State back on Dec. 5.

Four Buccaneer student-athletes took home first-place honors in Boone, as junior hurdler Mike James (Palm Bay, Fla.) set a NCAA Provisional Mark in the 55m hurdles, clocking a time of 7.35. Joining James with top honors on the men's side were junior Ben Ronoh (Sotik, Kenya) and senior Duronal Monal (Belle Glade, Fla.). Ronoh won the crown in the mile, as he finished six-hundredths of a second faster than his cousin Kenneth Rotich (Nairobi, Kenya) with a time of 4:22.21. Meanwhile, Monal was tearing it up in the short sprints by winning the 55m title (6.30).

On the women's side, junior Jasmine Ingram (Frederick, Md.) kicked off the season with a bang in the 800m. Ingram led the charge for the Lady Bucs in the event - finishing with a top time of 2:22.48. The Frederick, Md. native will compete in the 800m and the 4x400m relay on Saturday afternoon.
